New At Sewing with Class

ZEBRA CLUB - Louise
(any level)

Join the Zebra Club today! Come and be a part of this new and fun club that exists to help others. Quilters are welcome to come in every Friday evening to sew a quilt for a child who is dealing with abuse issues. Come with your scraps and ideas and have fun with other quilters as you put together these comfort blankets for kids. Quilts will be donated to the Zebra Child Protection Centre in Edmonton. Free!

Susan Loland Retreat - Woven Quilts

Once again Sewing with Class is excited to have Susan return with a new retreat project to share with us.

Susan began as a professional photographer and started teaching as a hobby. It's that photography and artistic background that has added a unique touch to many of her designs. When she's not busy designing patterns, Susan is teaching people how to create from those patterns. She sees teaching as an opportunity to support and encourage women. Cost $150.00 (Includes topics listed below.)

Friday, April 9 - Beading, 6:00 - 9:00 pm

Add glitz and excitement to your projects and beadwork. Learn about threads, needles and of course beads! Complete a sampler of basic beading stitches to refer to when embellishing your projects!

Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11 - Woven Quilts, 9:30 am - 4:00 pm

Simply Stunning Woven Quilts by Anna Faustino. Book required for class.

In this class you will learn a surprisingly easy weaving technique that creates an extraordinary foundation for an appliquéd wall hanging that is a sure conversation piece.

You'll see the technique demonstrated, then make your own woven sample quilt. You will also learn to free motion quilt your appliqués and how to make a striking piping to enhance your binding using the Piping Hot Piping book.

Classes will be held at the Stony Plain United Church.
