Painted Fabric Flowers

Susan Loland of Black Eyed Susan Designs will be back with us for a fall retreat.

She has been teaching, designing, and sharing her love and excitement of quilting for 12 years now in Canada and the U.S. 

Her gorgeous wall hangings are so creative and beautiful you will never believe how easy it really is! You will learn to paint gorgeous fabric with no artistic skill at all! The chemical reaction of salt transforms water and paints into beautiful “batik” looking fabric. Then see your flowers “grow” from your own fabrics and create a flower arrangement from them. The final stage is “free motion quilting and appliqué”. Lots of tips and tricks for finishing your masterpiece. Students have choice of pattern for class. Course consists of ½ day fabric painting, 1 day creating flowers and designing wall hanging, and a final day of appliqué, quilting and finishing techniques.
