This is the perfect class for those who have never quilted before, and for those who would like pointers to improve their skills and become more confident quilters. Learn the basics of quilting as you construct a small quilt suitable for a table topper, a baby quilt or a wall hanging. Starting with fabric selection (in the store) during the first class, you will learn about color and design. Following classes will cover step by step instructions on rotary cutting, piecing, quilt construction, borders, sandwiching, machine quilting and finally binding. I am an enthusiastic quilter and would enjoy sharing my love of quilting with you! Enjoy 24 hours classroom time. Are you frustrated with free motion quilting or are you just scared to try it on your machine? Join our special guest instructor Allan for a day to solve all your problems! He is a machine quilting expert who has many years of experience in the sewing industry and who is currently a Baby Lock dealer in Red Deer, AB. He services all makes and models of sewing machines, so he knows how to help you handle your machine to make the most of your free motion quilting skills.
In this class, sewing machine basic maintenance is covered, along with an explanation of how a sewing machine works! The science of machine needles, thread selection and differences, and sewing machine thread control will give you the knowledge you need to handle those many quilt tops. Allan will provide inspiration as you to learn 4 basic patterns, stitch length management and quilting combinations to let you quilt like a pro!

Introduction to Photo Transfer - Esther (All) |

In this class we will discuss several ways of transferring photos to fabric which is used to make memory quilts, posters, and fractures! This is a discussion class only, no supplies are necessary. We will discuss fabric sheets, photo selection, and ways to print. Now you can go home with confidence and print your own “fabric” using your computer inkjet printer for your projects! **This class is a prerequisite for our “Fabulous Fractures” class if you choose to print your own fabric to “fracture”**
